“AMAZING! At the very first meeting with Chris he listened and we made my wish list, which he referred to many times over the many months he worked on my house. He “got” it from the get go and knew just what I wanted so we could work as a team. I asked him to be the GC, so that the little things were not something I had to worry about. When it was major we discussed but otherwise, it was his show.
What a show it turned out to be. Certainly better than I anticipated or that could have been done by any old remodeler for sure. My house became his which makes ALL the difference in the world. There was truly vested interest and care. Work was done efficiently and effectively and there was clean up EVERY night before leaving the project which was much much appreciated.
I moved into my house a year ago and bought it really for the property. I now have a house that I LOVE and is not only comfortable but a show piece. Not one person has come in without asking who did it all. I may as well have Sidney Enterprise cards in my foyer!!Chris and Jeff are a creative team and the details are what make the difference. “I found Sidney Enterprises eight months into a year-long home renovation. During our kitchen remodel, our cabinet designer had recommended them for the install. Their attention to detail and quality of work during the install led to additional requests for their services. They ultimately became responsible for the entire kitchen remodel and did a remarkable job. Chris and Jeff are responsive, reasonably priced, listen to the homeowner’s requests and make great recommendations based on the vision for the project. Two distinguishing factors from previous contractors I’ve used is that they take a broad view of a project before starting, rather than treating it as something that simply needs to be finished. This saved time and money in the long run and the results showed the pride they take in their work. Second, after they start they focus on every small detail. For instance, they recommended and installed an extra trim piece to make the cabinetry perfectly encase the refrigerator.
The kitchen came out better than I anticipated. The remodel was challenging and included the removal of a pantry, installing cabinets to the ceiling along uneven walls, plumbing the dishwasher and installing the faucet, installing a range hood that required additional duct work, and installing and grouting a back splash. Notably, the project involved significant electrical work that neither my electrician nor my appliance installers seemed capable of mastering. Because of the scope of this home renovation and the amount invested, prior to finding Sidney Enterprises I used Angie’s List and tried to find the best electrician/ plumber/ contractor/ framer/ painter to handle each project. As I used Sidney Enterprises for more of the projects, I began to realize they were outperforming the “best” I had found on Angie’s List. Instead of trying to coordinate a number of contractors’ schedules, I coordinated with Chris and Jeff and knew that I was getting the best for each facet of the project.
Over the last eight months, I have used 21 contractors and would put Sidney Enterprises at the top of that list.”

“We recently purchased a much older home in Clarke County that was in dire need of a new kitchen. We hired Chris Cardinale and Sidney Enterprises after receiving estimates from a number of local contractors because of his experience, his understanding of our wants and needs, his reasonable estimate, and his ability to translate our vision into our dream kitchen. We selected the perfect general contractor? Chris and Sidney Enterprises did an incredible job!
The work started on time and stayed on schedule in spite of bad weather and ?unforeseen circumstances? that are expected in a home this old (Pre-1770)! The job was to build an entire new kitchen addition that needed siding, a new porch, windows, and stone foundation. The job also included removal of the old kitchen walls (thick plaster with on-site made bricks behind the plaster as insulation), floors and ceilings, installing a new foundation, removal of a load-bearing wall and the installation of an unobtrusive support system, and state of the art plumbing and electric systems. Following this, Chris met us several times on the weekend to pick out the cabinets and marble countertops and gave us great advice on those. Chris communicated with us during every step of this renovation ? he kept us updated on the progress and made sure that we were aware of and understood any problems or issues that had come up ? with recommendations on how to best address them.
Another area where we were really impressed with Chris and his crews were their efforts to maintain the look and feel of our older home by using materials and techniques that closely matched the original. They reused the original wood, etc. when possible and worked with mills in the local area to source and re-use other wood. The final results, as you can see in the attached pictures, are breathtaking.

“Recently retired, my husband and I bought a house in Winchester that was perfectly stuck in the mid-80s. While the bones of the house were solid and the views spectacular, the house was in desperate need of updating. Enter Chris Cardinale and the Sidney Enterprises team. Within days of visiting the property, Chris outlined a thorough 2-phase work plan and budget. He communicated with us regularly throughout the entire process so there were no surprises, ever. This was a huge plus for us as we were out of state for a few weeks during renovation. The crew took down two walls connecting the kitchen with the rest of the living area allowing for the expansion of the center island; turned the desk area into a bar; re-arranged and painted the existing wooden cabinets; converted a 1/2 bath into a full bath by removing the larger of two pantry closets; and reduced the size of a walk-in closet to accommodate a double sink in the master bath. It would have been easy to “go to town” on this renovation, but the changes Chris made were enough to make the space truly functional (and aesthetically appealing) for entertaining our large family. We have renovated several houses, and this experience was one of the best. Even the punch list items were completed in a timely manner. Working with Chris and Sidney Enterprises was pleasant enough that we are actually looking forward to Phase 2, which will be all about dressing up the front exterior so the house looks good both inside and out.”

Good Monday morning! I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how thrilled we are with the bathroom remodel – it turned out better than we could have imagined. I have no doubt at all that a big portion of that is because of the pride your employees take in doing a great job for their customers. Brad’s attention to even the smallest of details is absolutely amazing. I know I picked the right company to handle this unknown. I’ve had so many jacklegs do a half-assed job it’s very refreshing to find someone that takes pride in the work they do.
