We remodeled this 1959 home for a young couple who wanted to future-proof it. They planned on living in it for a long time, and wanted to take it down to the studs to ensure the wiring, plumbing, insulation and framing were safe and up to code.
This meant we got to rework the layout a bit, with help from Leesa Mayfield Architecture. The stairs moved to make way for a larger kitchen that would now be connected to the living room, ensuring friends and family could all hang out and gather.
We also enlarged the primary bathroom, complete with a walk in shower and double vanity.
The basement transformed from storage space into more living space, which nearly doubled the usable square footage of the home.
